Hi Early Risers!
It’s an honor to be getting up with you each day and to hear about your successes, challenges and growth!
Here are the quotes from our third week together -
You are a special group of people! Blessings, Shawna
Week Three – 5-5-5 Plan – Theme – Communication -
Monday:
Quote: People love Gold fish because they like to see something with a mouth open that’s not complaining.
Will Bowen, author of the book “A Complaint Free World” was on the Oprah show he said that between takes Oprah leaned over to him and said, “I have nothing to complain about” – he thought to himself that she must mean that she had nothing to complain about because she’s Oprah and life is good but as they talked he learned that her life is so great because she doesn’t complain to begin with. She always focuses on what she wants. Her not complaining created the Oprah we see. – This is telling and a great way to start our week – Let’s use what works for Oprah – and not complain –
Tuesday:
Quote: Frank Tyger said, “When you talk you repeat what you know; when you listen, you often learn something new”
So my call to all of us – is what are we listening to? Are you listening to your internal voices? Both good and bad? Remember that what you focus on becomes your reality!
Wednesday:
Quote: The quote today is not attributed to anyone though sometimes thought to have been said by Stephen Grellet – you however may have heard this before:
“I expect to pass through this world but once; any good thing, therefore, that I can do, or any kindness that I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now; let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.”
Now these are words to live by -
Thursday:
Quote: Another famous quote today by George Bernard Shaw
“People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are. I don’t believe in circumstances. The people who get on in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want and, if they can’t find them, make them.”
That’s you – that’s us here on this call – we are getting up and looking for the circumstances we want and making our life happen – bravo!
Friday
Quote: To end this week – I found a wonderful call to action from Johan H. Rhoades – the 8 points to live by and here they are for you:
- Do more than exist, live.
- Do more than touch, feel.
- Do more than look, observe.
- Do more than read, absorb.
- Do more than hear, listen.
- Do more than listen, understand.
- Do more than think, ponder.
- Do more than talk, say something.
This exemplifies those people who are living their lives a bit clearer than the norm – those of us that are committed to growth and deepening this experience we have on the earth – that’s you – wow!
You create your day by the thoughts you think and being present!
Make it a magnificent day!
Week One 08 January 13, 2008

Hi 5 Team, and anyone else reading this post!
Week one of this unique and intriquing journey is now part of history and the band of us did it! We’ve made the committment, we’ve gotten up even when we didn’t want to and we are five days closer to our dreams – or more dazed and confused depending on the time of bed for some of us!
However! This is a process and this is an evolution and when we figure out how to best use our early morning time we will accomplish our dreams, goals and desires – I’m including all the quotes from this first week in case you want them and would love you to comment on what you are going through in this process – let’s share with the world what we’re doing and encourage others to get up, get moving and create their ultimate year!
Blessings, Shawna
Monday
Quote: Cicero said, “The beginning of all things are small” –
This is the beginning of the 5-5-5 plan and we are starting off at 5:15 on January 7, 2008 with a small group of committed people – I know you will be proactive, you will be committed and stay true to your word in getting up at 5 every day to call at 5:15 so you have some additional time each morning to do what you want to do – to be more, do more and have more life –
Tuesday
Quote: Polybius said: “When the ancients said a work well begun was half done, they meant to impress the importance of always endeavoring to make a good beginning.
Just as this is the beginning of your day – The beginning of a week (pretty much) the beginning of this 5-5-5 plan – it’s begun, now we have what we need – however we must still work on what this means and how to use our time well.
Wednesday
Quote: Sydney Smith said: “To do anything in this world worth doing, we must not stand back shivering and thinking of the cold and danger, but jump in, and scramble through as well as we can.”
I liked this quote because it’s a cold time of the year – it’s also dark and that can make us shrink back – want us to not get up and get moving – however scrambling up and getting ourselves moving means that we have begun, we can now move forward, we can do what we want to do – right now – today – what is it you will do?
Thursday
Quote: Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe said this quote about beginning – “Are you in earnest? Seize this very minute. What you can do, or dream you can do, begin it. Begin it and he work will be completed.”
Friday
Quote: Our last quote of this last day of our first week is from Horace (Horace who I’m uncertain however he said, “Dare to be wise; begin! He who postpones the hour of living rightly is like the rustic who waits for the river to run out before he crosses.”
How many times do we all put off what we want to do? What we know we ought to do? Now is the time, now is the hour, now is what you’ve given yourself – I’m so whipped up for you!
You create your day by the way you think!Make it a Magnificent Day!
